All You Need to Know About Gordon Ramsay

Gordon Ramsay is a British chef who was born on the 8th of November 1966. He is a television personality and a writer as well. He is the founder of the global restaurant group Gordon Ramsay Restaurants in 1977.

The Gordon Ramsay restaurant that is located in Royal Hospital Road of London has been voted one of the top restaurants in the UK in the London Zagat Survey in 2001 and it was also awarded its third Michelin star. Gordon Ramsay was also appointed the Officer of the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth. Ramsay won several other recognitions and awards as well. One of the most prominent achievements was when his name was in the Guinness World Record for the ‘fastest time to fillet a 10 lb fish’ in 1 minute 5 seconds on 16th August 2017. 

Television career

Ramsay’s first appearance on television was in the fly on the kitchen wall documentaries. Then in 2004, he appeared on Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares that aired on Channel 4. All this made Ramsay gain lots of fame. He became quite famous after his Fox network show where he was introduced to the American audience. This was the US version of Ramsay’s Kitchen Hell. 

Ramsay was also the judge of US Masterchef where he was joined by some other reputed culinary judges like Graham Elliot and Joe Bastianich. Gordon recently announced his upcoming fourth series of the Hotel Hell that is quite similar to Kitchen Nightmares. 


Ramsay is a person who has a very specific image. He strives for culinary perfection and this is associated with his winning of three Michelin stars. After the airing of Boiling Point, he became infamous for his use of expletives and fiery temper. His temper has significantly contributed to his media appeal both in the US and in the UK. Ramsay is often criticized for his frequent use of strong language. He has a ferocious temper but he showed his sensitive side when he was the judge of Masterchef junior. He was gentle towards children and offered them constructive criticism. 

Personal Life and Charity Work

Ramsay is married to a Montessori trained teacher, Cayetana Elizabeth Hutcheson and they have five children, Megan, Holly jack, Matilda, and Oscar. His wife suffered a miscarriage in 2016. Ramsay’s father-in-law, Chris Hutcheson was responsible for running all his business operations till 2010. After that, he was jailed for some illegal dealings. Ramsay also owns properties worth 11 million pounds.

Ramsay dedicates lots of his time to charity work. He had an aim to complete 10 marathons in 10 years and he completed his target in 2009. He was an honorary patron of the Scottish Spina Bifida Association since 2004 he has raised lots of funds and ran a dozen support centers. 


Gordon Ramsay is an internationally renowned, multi Michelin star chef who has a string of successful restaurant chains across the globe. He is not only an amazing chef but also a small screen star across the UK and USA.
